Dubai Weather
When planning a Dubai travel, you should be aware of the local weather. For Western travelers, one of the main things to be aware of when visiting Dubai is the difference in climate between the Emirates and the mainlands of Europe and America. Temperatures which would constitute a heatwave in many of the Western nations are commonplace all year round. Dubai’s winter – which, like that of America and Europe, falls in December, January and February – is still characterised by temperatures as high as 24-26 degrees Celsius (75-79 Fahrenheit). Even in its lows the temperatures only tend to fall as low as 14 degrees Celsius, a temperate Spring day in much of the world.
Visit Dubai in the summer, however, and the temperatures can climb to a level that is actively uncomfortable. The average high in August climbs to a level above 40 Celsius (105 Fahrenheit) and Western travelers on a holiday to Dubai in this period are well advised to stay indoors, where the air conditioning compensates for the extremes in the outdoor areas. In the summer months rainfall is practically non-existent. If you are planning to visit Dubai on a holiday that will involve time spent outside, the wisest approach is to take it in January or February when the temperature will make it feel like a European summer day.
